A centrifugal heat recovery chiller is used in a large district plant to produce heating hot water and chilled water simultaneously for campus buildings.
Chilled water and heating hot water direct-buried piping is generally preinsulated with a vapor proof service jacket (HDPE, PVC, CPVC, etc.).
This is normally acceptable in domestic water distribution systems but may not be desirable in large chilled and heating hot water systems.
When the space relative humidity is higher than 55%, the chilled-water control valves are controlled to maintain the cold deck temperature at 53[degrees]F (11.7[degrees]C) and the heating hot water control valves are controlled to maintain the space temperature at their setpoints.
To calibrate the models the hourly measured data was integrated to daily values, thusthe simulated electricity, chilled water, and heating hot water consumption was calibrated.
