Bjersby, later Bramsback (1921-95), went on to a long and prolific career, and became active in
IASAIL (founded 1970), the International Association for the study of Anglo-Irish Literature, later IASIL, a friendly rival of ACIS.
The essay "Synge and O'Neill: Inspiration and Influence" came out in the 1987
IASAIL proceedings edited by Wolfgang Zach and Heinz Kosok.
THE International Association for the Study of Anglo-Irish Literature (
IASAIL) refused to be interdisciplinary at its inauguration, but increasingly as the proceedings from its annual conferences reveal, the literature has to be considered within its contexts in history, mythology, and literature in the two languages, including Old and Middle Irish.
