Along with the traditional source countries of Canada, India, United Kingdom, and Philippines, the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) 2011 report on the Future of Nursing in the United States identified four countries as emerging sources of IENs: China, Jamaica, Mexico, and Nigeria.
