The second exhibition is by the IGNCA - 'Stree : archetypes / alterbodies ' paintings by Sajitha Shankar.
The festival is on at IGNCA lawns, Janpath till February 3; 11 a.
"Institutions like IGNCA constantly need to discover and re-invent new ways of establishing a creative and meaningful dialogue between different stakeholders and adding cultural dimensions to the development debate," he said.
Explains Dipali Khanna, member secretary, IGNCA, " The exhibition tries to portray the transcultural renaissance through photo- documentation from Bangladesh, his birth place, Indian monasteries where he studied and was indoctrinated, Indonesia, where he went on a perilious journey to study under the world renowned teacher Dharmakriti, Vikramasila University where he had a lengthy career as the Rector, his sojourn to Nepal and China, where he lived for thirteen years and passed away in 1052".
The IGNCA was launched on November 19, 1985 by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the fond memory of his mother.
