The Tipping Points project, funded by The Leverhulme Trust, provides IHRR with an opportunity to explore tipping points - moments where everything suddenly changes.
IHRR's Dr Andrew Russell will be exploring the reasons why more women than men smoke in the North East, while his colleague Dr Sue Lewis will concentrate on why many young people in the region expose themselves to the risks from smoking, often from a young age.
The screening of the Matt Damon-narrated film has been organised by Durham University's Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) and is open to the public at Durham's Gala cinema.
IHRR's Dr Alex Bentley is hosting the event and chairing the panel.
