The screening of the Matt Damon-narrated film has been organised by Durham University's Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) and is open to the public at Durham's Gala cinema.
IHRR's Dr Alex Bentley is hosting the event and chairing the panel.
"After watching this Academy Award-winning documentary, we'll be considering the causes of the crisis with the panel, whether we've learnt our lessons, what dangers still exist within the banking system and whether a reoccurrence is conceivable." The Tipping Points project, funded by The Leverhulme Trust, provides the IHRR with an opportunity to provide a fresh and original exploration of a term increasingly used to describe the world we live in.
