Treatments of MSCs were initiated by serum starvation overnight in IMDM and then culturing in fresh 10% FBS/IMDM in the absence or presence of various doses of BIX01294, 1,5-naphthyridine pyrazole derivative-19 (Npy19; RepSox), CHIR99021, IWP4 (Stemgent), 5-azacytidine (Sigma), 3-bromo-7-nitroindazole, and/or trichostatin A (Cayman Chemical).
DM2 is Iscove's modified Dulbecco's medium (IMDM), supplemented with 15% FBS, 2 mM LGlutamine, 100 u/mL penicillin, 0.1 mg/mL streptomycin, 10 ng/mL human VEGF (ImmunoTools), 30ng/mL human bFGF (ImmunoTools), and 5 [micro]g/mL Ascorbic Acid (Sigma).
Light density mononuclear cells (MNC) were separated using Percoll (GE Healthcare Life Sciences, Baied'Urfe, QC, Canada) density gradient centrifugation and cultured in Iscove's modified Dulbecco's medium (IMDM; Invitrogen, Burlington, ON, Canada) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS, Invitrogen) as previously described by us [2].
Isolated [CD34.sup.+] cells were cultured in Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium (IMDM; Gibco, CA, USA) supplemented with either 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) or KnockOut Serum Replacement (KSR; Invitrogen, CA, USA) and the combination of human recombinant cytokine cocktails (Peprotech, Rocky Hill, NJ, USA).
Resuspend the cell in 5 ml Iscove Modified Dubelco Medium (IMDM) supplemented with 10% FBS, 10 ng/ml human epidermal growth factor (HuEGF), 10 ng/ml human fibroblast growth factor (HuFGF) and 1% antibiotic-antimycotic and transfer to T25 mm culture flask and incubated at 37[degrees]C and 5% C[O.sub.2] for two days.

CaPan-1, CaPan-2, SW1990, and PANC-1 cells were grown in DMEM; CFPAC-1 cells were grown in IMDM; and ASPC1 cells were grown in RPMI 1640.
HepG2, human liver carcinoma cells (Istituto Zooprofilattico, Brescia, Italy) were grown in a 5% C[O.sub.2] atmosphere at 37[degrees]C in IMDM (Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium) with HEPES (10 mM), glucose (4.5 g/L), NaHC[O.sub.3] (3.7 g/L), penicillin (100 units/mL), streptomycin (100 g/mL), 1% nonessential amino acids, and 10% fetal calf serum.
Cells were resuspended in serum-free IMDM (Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium) and maintained at 4[degrees] until injection.
