which takes place every four years, combines Great Britain's five leading environmental exhibitions: BEX (Brownfield Expo), ET (Environmental Technology), NEMEX (National Energy Management Exhibition), SB (Sustainable Business) and IWEX
(Industrial Water Expo).
In response to exhibitors who have indicated that they will be focusing on new technologies and launching new products at IWEX
, a 'Product Technology Demonstration Area' is another new feature for 2003.
The IWEX report found that food manufacturers and brewers are the biggest spenders on water with 8% of turnover going on water and the management of water, wastewater and effluent.
This requires some serious investment and the IWEX report showed that over three quarters (76%) of these businesses plan to invest in water management in the next five years, with half of that investment in the next two.
According to the IWEX report, nearly two thirds of these companies have worked with water management consultants and specialist companies in addressing these issues, but there is still a real opportunity for improved relationships with 28% of these businesses saying they do not know enough companies/consultants who can help them.
IWEX, The International Water and Effluent Exhibition, took place at the NEC on the 18th-20th October.
The busy seminar programme at this year's IWEX
event will discuss key issues including the latest legislation, SUDS and flood management, FOG (fat oil and grease) solutions, wastewater management and smart metering.
A celebration of the successes achieved in the water and allied industries will be the focus of attention of the re-styled IWEX
Gala Evening, to be held on Wednesday 12th November, in time elegant surroundings of the Imperial Suite of the National Motorcycle Museum, close to the NEC.
The five shows which make up Sustainabilitylive are: IWEX, Environmental Technology (ET), National Energy Management Exhibition (NEMEX), Sustainable Business, and Brownfield Expo (BEX).
IWEX 2010 will bring together the best in innovation from leading players with names such as ABB and T-T Pumps just a sample of what will be on display.
