IWMF 2008 Courage in Journalism Awards winners are Farida Nekzad of Afghanistan, managing editor and deputy director of Pajhwok Afghan News and vice president of the South Asia Media Commission; Sevgul Uludag of Cyprus, investigative reporter for Yeniduzen newspaper; and Aye Aye Win (Win will not attend the ceremonies), an Associated Press correspondent in Myanmar.
The IWMF Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a woman journalist who has a pioneering spirit and whose determination has paved the way for the future generations of women in the media.
