Jeff Martin, General Secretary of International Laser Class Association was also fulsome in his praise of the Musannah Sports City venue.
"The Laser Masters are a great example of how sailing is a sport for life," said Jeff Martin, Executive Secretary of the International Laser Class Association. "We have racing for juniors and youths through to the top of people over 70.
"They deserve the highest praise as this is an extremely demanding event and they have trained very hard to reach this international level of expertise and capability in just two years." Omani Race Officers Said Al Areimi and Abdul Aziz Al Shidi and their team will be responsible for managing all racing on the water and setting the courses under the watchful eye of Jeff Martin, Principal Race Officer appointed by the International Laser Class Association to ensure that the competition is run according to the Class' standards, while the jury will ensure that racing is fair and abides by the racing rules of sailing.
"The International Laser Class Association selected Oman as the host country for all three championships because of our world class infrastructure, rich history in sailing, proven success in developing our youth through the sport of sailing and because of past experience in organising successful international sport events.
