In 1994, the National Head Start Association awarded a Partnership Challenge Grant to the JCCEO Head Start Program in Birmingham, Alabama to establish community partnerships and implement programs to: 1) increase parents' awareness of child health and safety issues, and 2) provide information to facilitate parents actions in prevention, early detection, and treatment of child health and safety problems.
