La version de jBPM utilizada en este proyecto, aunque permite trabajar las etapas de modelado, implementacion y ejecucion, no posee soporte para las etapas de simulacion y optimizacion, situacion que impide desarrollar todo el ciclo de vida de BPM, ademas de carecer de adherencia a los estandares ni BPMN, XPDL o BPEL, soporta un modelo interno denominado JPDL, generando una brecha entre el diseno de los procesos y su implementacion.
