With the rank of reservists, they will form part of the Joint Peace and Security Team (JPST) tasked with the job of maintaining law and order in MILF communities and camps during the decommissioning of 40,000 members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) and their firearms.
'The deployment (of the JPST) will significantly reduce the maneuver space of the BIFF,' he said in an interview with the Philippine New Agency.
The JPST assimilated with 3,000 soldiers and policemen to secure the MILF-identified camps and communities while the normalization process is being done.
Von Al Haq, BIAF spokesperson, said the JPST would employ some 6,000 trained personnel that would come from the government's security sector and the MILF.

Participants who undergone the training will soon be deployed as members of JPSTs in critical areas as agreed upon by both the government and the MILF to maintain peace and order.
"The JPST have already started with their work," Iqbal said in a text message on Sunday.
The 6,000-member JPST will be divided into several teams whose main task is to maintain peace and security in the MILF communities that will undergo the normalization process within and outside the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
He said the JPST, comprised of representatives from the military, PNP and MILF's Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces, will secure communities during the camp transformation and the decommissioning of 12,000 or 30 percent of MILF combatants starting September 7 this year.
Among the responsibilities of the JPST are: tracking and documenting private armed groups and other armed groups; helping reduce and control loose or undocumented weapons; supporting the observance of the ceasefire agreement; working on security arrangements for peace process-connected personalities and events; and supporting dispute resolution initiatives on the ground.
Ferrer said the JPST training has been remarkable for its focus on team-building.
