The program manager (PM) of the JTFPO is assigned under control of the Department of the Army/deputy chief of staff for operations, and is a major general; the vice PM is an Air Force colonel.
The JTFPO determined that the ideal location for integration and test of the ICE would be Goodfellow Airbase, TX, as the Technical Training Center has an IBM 4381 with sufficient capacity to host the ICE software and the remaining development activity.
The initial class was composed of personnel from Goodfellow AFB and the JTFPO. The ICE training program is designed to satisfy any manner of follow-on training method, from ATC resident training to formal and informal OJT.
This initial cadre training was completed by mid-April; copies of all training materials have been turned over to the 3480 TCHTW, PACAF and USAFE, as well as the JPL and the JTFPO.
