JYS Machining Works started its operations in January 2003.
The presence of JYS Machining Works in Camiguin has contributed to the local economy since stakeholders from Catarman and neighboring municipalities can avail of the machine fabrications and repair services without the need to travel often to Cagayan de Oro.
Thus, JYS sought the intervention of the DOST, through the Provincial Science and Technology Center in Camiguin, to upgrade its equipment.
It was in 2014 when the DOSTs Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) funding was approved for JYS Machining Works.
Before, JYS had only five employees, but that increased after the intervention.
Now able to give back as part of their social responsibility, JYS Machining Works donated machine products to the Department of Education (DepEd) in Catarman to improve the quality of education through equipment upgrade.
