The rating reflects KBMC's modest operating and financial performance and its moderate debt burden, the agency said.
Nevertheless, its debt-to-current balance ratio remains relatively low for KBMC at 2.4x in fiscal 2008 and 0.12x in fiscal 2009, the analysts noted.
Although several hospitals have won the ACHSI accreditation, KBMC is the first medical centre in the Gulf to achieve such recognition, said ACHSI chief executive officer Brian Johnston, who handed over the accreditation certificate at a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza's Bahrain Conference Centre.
It was jointly received by KBMC chairman Ahmed Jawahery, vice-chairman Dr M I Sahadulla and managing director Dr M A Mohammed.
Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty also inaugurated the KBMC website.
