In late 2004, the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts (KYCADD) partnered with HedgeHog e-Sourcing On Demand to develop an e-sourcing system designed to improve the sourcing process for municipal buyers in 120 counties and increase business opportunities in Kentucky for suppliers.
In addition to the efficiencies inherent in this new electronic system, KYCADD also expects to realize HedgeHog's documented eight-to-32 percent savings as ADD-OPS becomes more widely used throughout the state.
"While we've only had a few opportunities to use the new on-line sourcing system so far, it is proving to be the cost and time saver we anticipated," said John Penfield, information technology coordinator for KYCADD. "Kentucky has 120 counties with ongoing purchasing needs.
