In (19), she uses Sicilian (Comu a una latra!) to vent about her indignation and irritation at the way she has been treated.
Cosi vedess'io lui fender per mezzo lo corea la crudele che 'l mio squatra; poi non mi sarebb'atra la morte, ov'io per sua bellezza corro: che tanto da nel sol quanto nel rezzo questa scherana micidiale e latra. Rime 103.53-58 The position of the words "la morte" is highly ambiguous here, because the reading could be "poi non mi sarebb'atra la morte / ov'io per sua (the lady's) bellezza corro" meaning "death would not be black for me, where I run because of her (the lady's) beauty." But if we read "sua" as belonging to "la morte" we get a different meaning, specifically: "death, where I run because of her beauty." We find the same equivocation of "the lady" with "death" in the poem "Li occhi dolenti per pieta del core" in the Vita Nuova, in which he laments the death of Beatrice:
