LCRI Marine recently purchased and installed a state-of-the-art directional waverider buoy which provides a much more detailed description of the sea state, enabling both industrial developers and potential investors to have greater confidence in the suitability of the area.

Matthew Jones said: "By working with the LCRI, Solarwise will be able to build on their current environmental practises, and implement changes that will allow them to monitor and reduce their carbon output and environmental impact, as well as saving them money.
A team of 18 people at SBEC, including staff from the LCRI and Corus, will be involved in the design, modelling, prototyping, testing and monitoring of a range of heating and energy projects based primarily on photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies.
The WEST road show began at the LCRI Conference 2013 in Llandudno, followed by breakfast events in Aberystwyth, Swansea and Cardiff.
The conference presented the research achievements of the LCRI, with speakers from the LCRI's six university partners and their industrial collaborators showing how the Institute's research is impacting on the Welsh economy, by developing technologies and services, creating jobs and generating new knowledge.
These events will be an opportunity to learn about the free training courses being offered by WEST, which cover the five research themes of the LCRI - Marine Energy, Hydrogen Technology, Large-Scale Power Generation, Low-Carbon Built Environment and Solar PV.
The Large Scale Power Generation (LSPG) project within the LCRI has been investigating the technical challenges faced by using alternative fuels in gas turbine (GT) systems.
The LCRI, led by Cardiff University, and with partners in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Glyndwr, South Wales and Swansea universities, was set up in 2008 with a PS5.
THE Low Carbon Research Institute (LCRI) will be hosting their fifth annual LCRI Conference 2013 on November 5 and 6 in Venue Cymru, Llandudno.
