Recent improvements to Liquid Crystal-based Spatial Light Modulators (LCSLM) have made these types of modulators more useful as an ATS for system calibration and design [5-7].
PM fiber components and selected optics were used and were necessary to maintain matching linear polarization through the system and to present a 0[degrees] horizontal polarization angle to the LCSLM. These components with careful alignment were required to achieve optimal performance.
This paper shows the progress in the development of a phase only ATS which performs in the SWIR wavelength regime based on a reflective LCSLM. The presented data shows the different degrees of turbulence, from weak to strong, that can be achieved in a controlled environment.
