LGES entered into the field of municipal insurance for local authorities in 1986.
As an extension of the center, the LGES Municipal Insurance Agency was recently created to provide a wider range of services, which are being defined by the local authorities.
LGES has been in the forefront of dealing with parking issues for a number of years, introducing the concept of nation-wide paper parking cards and, more recently, an electronic parking system that replaces the one-city-only parking cards and coin-operated meters.
To assist the municipalities with building cost-effective and high-quality schools quickly, LGES launched a national program for the planning and rapid construction of educational facilities.
LGES also has assembled a school building financing package for the local authorities, drawing on development funds from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Housing, the National Lottery and the relevant local sources.
Centralized procurement of school equipment, furniture, computer systems and buses--another LGES activity--has become a major factor in the procurement of some 870 standard items for schools.
With its consultant capabilities, LGES offers local authorities a comprehensive approach to their school-system needs that can enhance the quality of the school system and conserve resources and time.
The Director General of the LGES was available to provide details, illustrate the potential savings and answer questions.
