The observation of a long-lived metastable state for Fe LIESST complexes and FeCo Prussian blue analogs prompted us to explore new complexes showing a photoinduced long-lived metastable state using a different mechanism.
We reported a 1-D LIESST compound, [[Fe.sup.II](L)[(CN).sub.2]][[Mn.sup.II][(hfac).sub.2]] (L-[N.sub.3][O.sub.2] = azaoxa macrocycle ligand; hfac = (1,1,1,5,5,5)-hexafluoroacetylacetonate), having the -NC -[Fe.sup.II]-CN-[Mn.sup.II]- heterometallic structure.
Moreover, we developed [Fe.sup.III] LIESST complexes, phototunable Co-valence tautomeric complexes, and a Co complex exhibiting the change in orbital angular momentum.
