The third LMPG Committee determined that 2 types of recommendations were necessary: those based upon expert opinion and those that were evidence-based.
Thus, while the third LMPG Committee determined that there is sufficient evidence-based clinical guidance on the use ofcTn from clinical practice groups, for analytical considerations, there is no existing body of evidence from clinical trials; therefore, we determined that use of the expert opinion class of evidence was necessary and appropriate to focus on the analytical issues of cardiac marker testing, specifically high-sensitivity (hs) cTn assays, recognizing that the AACC Academy and the IFCC TF-CB had the most expertise.
Susceptible checks, LMPG in all tests and Prelude/8 x Marquis in most tests, were included.
One hundred forty-two [BC.sub.1][F.sub.2] families from the backcross, Triumph 64/2 x LMPG, were tested with isolates of two races, MCC and LCB.

We commend Don-Wauchope et al., who assessed 11 National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (NACB) laboratory medicine practice guidelines (LMPGs) with the AGREE II (Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II) instrument (1), and we thank Bossuyt for his accompanying editorial (2).
The NACB diabetes LMPG group adapted the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) methodology in developing their recommendations (8, 11).

The AGREE II instrument was applied successfully to all 11 of the LMPGs. Item 16 (the different options for management of the condition or health issue are clearly presented) was excluded in the Tumor Marker Quality Requirements LMPG (26).
LMPG and suggested revisions were presented for public and stakeholder
