The course curriculum was designed by the training unit committee of The Leprosy Mission in 2004 during training of trainers workshop (TOT) conducted at The Mission hospital Naini, Allahabad during December 2004 to February 2005.

The princess, who is patron of the Leprosy Mission of Great Britain, said she willingly touched the victims because she didn't regard them as outcasts.
Speaker at a meeting of the Good Companions was James Greig of Leprosy Mission, who gave a slide show of the Mission's work.
Leprosy Mission head Rev Tony Lloyd, said: "All our sympathies are with her." The homeless charity Centrepoint said: "We send her our good wishes."
The Leprosy Mission Community Hospital at Naini, Allahabad district in Uttar Pradesh, India treats a large number of active untreated leprosy patients as well as those with serious complications.
