Danish-based Digiquant (formerly Belle Systems) has won a contract to supply its Internet Management System (IMS) multi-service platform to Hungary's national telecomms carrier MATAV.
MATAV, which is 66% owned by the German telecomms giant Deutsche Telecom, will use IMS for the provisioning, service management and billing of the IP-based services - including intranet and extranet services and virtual private networks - it offers to corporate customers and Internet service providers.
To solve the task, MATAV selected Cisco's ONS 15454 MSTP platform, which represents the latest in multiservice optical platforms.
Cisco Systems, as the system vendor, has taken up a significant role supporting both MATAV as the service provider, and the Hungarian NREN as the owner of the research and education network, resulting in a truly end-to-end Cisco network.
