mcel to provide improved redundancy, increase network capacity and improve its subscribers' quality of experience (QoE).
Ceragon is extending
mcel's backbone network, based on Ceragon technology, from Beira in central Mozambique to Nampula in the north of the country, as well as upgrading access links nationwide, providing the only broadband connection available for millions of Mozambicans.
Clients of both
mCel and Vodacom can also call three pre-selected contacts free of charge between midnight and 4 a.m.
Ericsson will deploy its multi-standard base station RBS 6000 as well as its Mobile Softswitch Solution and the SmartEdge-based Mobile Packet Backbone Network (MPBN) solution in order to secure high-speed mobile broadband for
mcel's customers.
Salvador Adriano,
mCel's chairman, said the company would make a concerted effort to expand coverage, improve service quality, attract more customers and maintain its number one position in the country's telecom sector.
It seems that
MCel is about to close this loophole.
