The latest three-day training program was conducted by Huawei experts in partnership with
MCIT under the umbrella of the ministry's ThinkTech initiative.
According to
MCIT, there are around 1,000 5G towers up and running across the country already, establishing the Kingdom as a forerunner in deploying 5G not only in the region, but on a global scale.
The event, which was held at
MCIT's headquarters, is part of Huawei's ongoing 5G Roadshow in Saudi Arabia, which is touring the Kingdom to raise awareness of the next generation of 5G connectivity and seeking to develop ICT talent locally.

MCIT to challenge young people to go beyond digital technologies and look at emerging and deep technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The launch ceremony was held at the headquarters of CITC in Riyadh in the presence of Engineer Majid Almazyad, deputy governor of CITC; Chen Weiqing, Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Ibrahem Alnasser, general manager of Digital Innovation Center at
MCIT; and a senior executive for Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Deng Lungang.

He added that
MCIT is seeking to transform the kingdom into a platform for Internet applications in the region and to explore the best ways to reach this through the transfer of international expertise and by facilitating access to appropriate funding.
