Dr Yousuf al-Maslamani, medical director of Hamad General Hospital (HGH) and director of the Qatar Center for Organ Transplantation at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), has been elected vice president of the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation (Mesot) for a two-year term.

HMC also won a silver medal in table tennis at this year's Mesot games.
Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the announcement of the 13th Congress of the Middle East Society of Organ Transplantation (MESOT), which will be held on December 12-15, Dr Al Obaidli said the move was "progressing".
In parallel to the MESOT Congress, the fourth Middle East Transplant Games (METG) will be holding its inaugural event at the Armed Forces Officers Club on December 14-15.
