Fitch anticipates expenses to slightly outpace revenue with some of the initial staffing and costs of opening the new surgical pavilion at MedStar-Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH), but ultimately Fitch expects the project to be accretive in this attractive market.
The system is currently pursuing several capital projects, the largest of which is the expansion at MGUH. The new 417,000 square foot surgical and inpatient pavilion is expected to cost $607 million, which includes $40 million in infrastructure costs at Georgetown University.
