The within-day CVs for measurement of MPAf were 11.8% (at 17.9 [micro]g/L) and 6.8% (at 210.1 [micro]g/L) at 254 nm and 11.6% (at 18.4 [micro]g/L) and 6.5% (at 209.2 [micro]g/L) at 215 nm (n = 12).
The applicability of the method was proven by analyzing MPA and MPAG concentrations in >1500 plasma samples and MPAf in >600 samples collected from liver and kidney transplant recipients.
The purpose of the present study was to develop a method for the simultaneous determination of MPA and MPAG within one run and with an analytical sensitivity sufficient to allow the additional measurement of MPAf concentration in plasma water.
The sensitivity of this procedure allows the quantification of MPAf concentration after separation of the protein-bound MPA, using the ultrafiltration procedure described by Nowak and Shaw (12).
Nonstandard abbreviations: MPA, mycophenolic acid; MMF, mycophenolate mofetil; MPAf, free mycophenolic acid; MPAG, mycophenolic acid glucuronide metabolite; and MPAG, mycophenolic acid carboxybutoxy ether.
Because of the high binding to plasma albumin (>97%) (12), free MPA concentration (MPAf) measurement may be a better indicator of total drug exposure.
The Security Command is also technically subordinate to the KPA and MPAF; however, shortly after the younger Kim came to power, he gave control of the Security Command to the SSD, which is the core intelligence organization in North Korea.
The MPS lost its function over border control in 1995 and part of its authority to control travel in and out of Pyongyang in 1997; the MPAF took up this role, marking a partial militarization of border control and travel restrictions.
