MPFT has been shortlisted in the mental health provider of the year category.
MPFT leads a network of seven NHS trusts which provides inpatient mental health care for serving military personnel.
has more nominations in the awards - which recognises outstanding contribution to healthcare - than any other single organisation.
However Professor Michel Brunet, from the University of Poitiers in France, who led the MPFT
scientists, believes Toumai lies at the root of all subsequent human evolution.
MPFT added that it would not comment on individual cases.
But they said managers had not supported staff through regular clinical supervision in some areas, which MPFT says will be addressed.

The figures show that 85 patients who had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act went AWOL - absent without leave - from MPFT between April 2017 and March 2019.
Paul Bowers, head of operations for MPFT which manages The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, said the figures published by NHS Digital relate to all inpatient wards provided by the trust, including The Redwoods Centre, St George's Hospital in Stafford and the George Bryan Centre in Tamworth.
The Shrewsbury group is funded by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's (MPFT) Arts for Health team while the Telford WAG runs on an independent voluntary basis.
