The research group of Gang Wu, MCIC at Queens University in Kingston, ON is trying to tame the [[blank].sup.17]O nucleus using a technique called multiple-quantum magic-angle spinning (MQMAS), which completely averages second-order quadrupolar interactions.
This approach enhances the overall sensitivity of MQMAS experiments, especially for sites associated with large quadrupole coupling constants.
