The Michigan Venture Capital Association (MVCA) is a non-profit trade organization designed to bring together venture capital industry experts in the state of Michigan.
The MVCA has for nearly 20 years now been a community-wide 'grass roots' organisation, in the way that Ockenden Venture, for all its effectiveness in resettling the Vietnamese and liaising with city council departments, could never be.
Above all, though, the MVCA is the principal source of information, advice and support on the multiplicity of matters - housing and welfare benefits, tax, immigration and nationality, education, employment, training - confronted daily by the Vietnamese, many of whom understand little if any English.
