Magnetic Circular Dichroism (MCD) Studies of Ultrathin Iron Garnet Films
In this section, the results of an experimental study of the spectral dependencies of magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) in the wavelength range between 300 nm and 600 nm are reported, conducted with [Bi.sub.2][Dy.sub.1][Fe.sub.4][Ga.sub.1][O.sub.12] iron garnet films of thicknesses 0.6 nm, 1.7 nm, 3.7 nm, 10.3 nm, and 100 nm at room temperature.
Mason (chemistry and biochemistry, Northern Illinois U.) explains magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectroscopy and its use in the interpretation of molecular electronic spectra.
Lin et al., "Experimental confirmation of the X-ray magnetic circular dichroism sum rules for iron and cobalt," Physical Review Letters, vol.
To investigate this, we have been awarded 24 shifts of X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD) beamtime at the 6.3.1.
The complexes have been characterized by comparison of the electronic absorption and magnetic circular dichroism spectra of the complexes under examination with those of structurally defined naturally occurring heme iron centers.
Moreover, The study of the magnetic behaviour of the interface will be carried out by means of spin polarized angle resolved photoemission and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism, Trying to find the effect of the magnetic coupling between the ferromagnetic substrate and organic molecular layer on the spin-dependent electronic properties at the interface.
To further understand these properties of nNOS on its active site structural level, we have examined the oxygenase (heme-containing) domain of the two mutants in close comparison with that of wild-type nNOS with UV-visible absorption, magnetic circular dichroism (MCD), and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy.
Magnetic behaviour of the surface-grafted SMMs will be studied by bulk- and surface-sensitive techniques including X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and especially spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy.
In the present study, we have used magnetic circular dichroism to show that ShuS is a six-coordinate low spin heme protein ligated by histidine and OH.
