The interpretation of datasets was done on workstation, using axial sections as well as reconstruction algorithms, including maximum intensity projection (MIP), multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) and volume rendering (VR).

With multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) images formed at 1 mm thin sections, it is possible to evaluate the patellar and trochlear cartilage tissues arranged perpendicularly to the joint, especially where the articular surface is curved (1, 5).
For image interpretation, multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) images in different planes and in some cases even maximum intensity projection (MIP) and volume rendering technique (VRT) images were made after examination.
All 188 CT examinations (140 for 70 patients and 48 for 16 patients) were analysed in the arterial late phase on a reconstruction and image interpretation console (Advantage Workstation 4.1/3, GE) adjusting the image's level, window and enlargement values each time, and routinely using a 2D multiplanar reconstruction technique (coronal, sagittal, and oblique planes).
This case clearly demonstrated massive bone erosions and kinked alignment at the junction of the accessory bone and the patella by multiplanar reconstruction with computed tomography.[8]
All reconstructed datasets were transferred to a dedicated offline workstation (VitreaWorkStation; Toshiba Medical, Japan) to obtain 2-dimensional Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR) and Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) and 3-dimensional (volume rendering, VR, technique) reconstructions.
Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) clearly showed that the flap extended retrograde to the pulmonary valve from the inciting intimal tear in the proximal main pulmonary trunk (Figure 3(c)).
Multiplanar reconstruction on T1 and T2 weighted MRI images were performed using a 3 Tesla machine.
An independent workstation running XoranCat[TM] software (version 3.1.62, Xoran Technologies, Ann Arbor, USA) was used to select the multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) display mode, according to the following procedure: based on an axial image, the reconstructions were set perpendicular to the long axis of the condyle to generate the cross-sectional images.
