The NALP reports that the total percent change in women partners over the past two decades has been "marginal." In 1993, women accounted for 12.27 percent of law firm partners; in 2012, they comprised 19.91 percent of law firm partners.
The NALP's other statistics are equally disheartening.
However, as NALP pointed out in a press release, some large firms began cutting salaries after the survey was completed and that figure may not be sustained in many markets.
A comparison with figures reported as of April 2002, April 2001, and April 2000 reveals that first-year salaries have remained stable in firms of 251 or more attorneys during this period, with a median of about $110,000, NALP said.

Now, the NALP, the Association for Legal Career Professionals has more bad news: The median salary for first-year associates at large law firms is $145,000, a figure that was last seen in 2007.
