Consequently, ASHRAE's new Grassroots Government Activities Committee (GGAC) and its staff liaisons will be working hard to connect the Society's regional and chapter leaders with NASEO
members to provide state energy officials with the technical and policy resources they need to make sound energy policy decisions.
In any case, the new rule is now under review, and an evaluation is due to the NASEO
board of directors on February 23.
Although ASHRAE has been loosely allied with NASEO
in previous years, the Society became an Affiliate Member (reserved for non-state energy office [SEO] organizations) in 2011 and has become much more engaged in NASEO
's activities--particularly as they relate to building energy codes and standards.
