Through the 2005-06 school year, a review of the forty-four single-sex schools listed on the NASSPE website revealed that at least eight single-sex girls' schools appeared to exist without a similar school for boys serving the same grades and geographic region, and at least five boys' schools did not have a similar school for girls serving the same grades and geographic region.
