Stephanie Kenna, manager of the British Library's Co-operation and Partnership Programme said: "I am delighted that through this collaboration with NEMLAC, Bede's World and the institutions that will be exhibiting the facsimile, people across the North East will be able to see and enjoy the beauty of the Lindisfarne Gospels on their doorstep."
A key NEMLAC objective is to place these facilities at the heart of communities, supporting lifelong learning to all, providing a source of inspiration and creativity and helping develop the knowledge economy and cultural tourism.
Funded by Nemlac, 116 community groups were asked to produce a project about the place they live.
