A third study, not yet finalised, funded by the NFAW, the YWCA, WEL, the Don Chipp Foundation, Women with Disabilities Australia and the Victorian Women Lawyers at a national level, and state governments in most states, examines the qualitative experiences of over 100 women around Australia who have been affected by the changes.
Other groups like the WEL, NPEC and NFAW continue to emphasise legal reforms and state support for women.
However, at the same time, individual groups such as the NFAW have maintained their independence and a critical approach to the actions of government while still, engaging with ministers and bureaucrats in order to provide a community sector voice to government.
