"We had a visibility and status issue for our customers," said Rudy Cortez, NFELC logistics management specialist.
Working with the OTS Program Office, NFELC documented their requirements and proposed a solution that eliminated their problem while enhancing OTS capability for all users.
"Every year NFELC generates more than 20,000 requisitions for subordinate commands; the task to manage that [workload volume] and ensure correct receipt close-out is enormous," explained Cortez.
"Not only will this change to OTS help NFELC, but it will help OTS users at large," he said.
In early November 2008, Subject Matter Experts from the NECC, NAVELSG, and NFELC visited II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) units at Camp Lejeune, N.C., to examine the processes, people and technologies construct associated with Marine Corps organizational and intermediate levels of maintenance management.
