NHMA), the housewares sections in most supermarkets are in excellent shape to not only withstand a recession, but also thrive in one.
"Our site had been essentially a library of all the things we wanted our members to know, whether they wanted to know them or not," says Perry Reynolds, director of marketing and trade development at
NHMA. "Content was something we had but we were using it in a way that wasn't appropriate for the achievement of our strategic goals.
The
NHMA, based in Rosemont, Ill., has developed a Web site, www.housewares.org, to help retailers and suppliers gain a better understanding of the marketplace, the International Houseware show, and individual housewares segments.
