Some people even create acronyms to explain concepts, such as NIMBY (Not in My Back Yard), CALF (Citizens Against Landfill), PEST (Prevent Environmental Suicide Today), and perhaps the most telling, NIMTOO
(Not in My Term of Office)--politicians always looking to play to the masses love that one.
In its November 1993 and January 1994 issues, several acronyms beyond NIMBY, NOOS, LULU, NOPE, and CAVE were mentioned: WHITE (Wealthy Housing Increases the Economy); CALIFORNIA (Citizens Against Low Income Families Owning or Renting Near Ideal Americans); BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone), and one reserved for politicians, NIMTOO
(Not in My Term of Office.
