Islamabad -- Former president Pervez Musharraf has filed the written reply in Supreme Court (SC) in connection with NRO case.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued a notice to former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on a petition seeking recovery of huge losses Pakistan had to incur after the promulgation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in 2007.
As soon as my cases re-opened in the courts after the Supreme Court declared the NRO void ab initio, the beneficiary factor also vanished," he had said.
The NROs' first satellite program, Corona truly shocked the world of reconnaissance, and, with the completion of the second successful Corona mission in December of 1960, the Corona program imaged 3.8 million square miles of denied area, more than the coverage provided by all 24 U-2 missions conducted between 1956 and 1960.
Publicly acknowledged for the first time in 1992, the NRO is a separate operating agency of the Department of Defense and one of the 13-member agencies of the national Intelligence Community.
Two NROs destroyed the country and our current circumstances are owing to that," he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan termed frequent opposition walkouts in the National Assembly as 'mere tactics to seek an NRO. '
"At present transfer of funds from NRO to NRE account is not permissible," the RBI notification said.
He further said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's exhortation to NRO beneficiaries to resign voluntarily from their positions is 'an injustice to them'.
However, the PML-N and PPP have repeatedly demanded the government to name the individuals seeking an NRO from it.
While responding to the claim, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Mohammad Khan said no one could 'hijack' the judiciary in the name of NRO. The Supreme Court and the Sindh High Court will not let NRO take place, he added.
A journalist posed question before Shehbaz Sharif, 'What is your intake on NRO?' Shehbaz Sharif replied interestingly as he said, 'What is an NRO?'
