The SPARTA (System Performance, Availability and Reliability Trend Analysis) project will be funded and managed by ORE Catapult in close collaboration with Narec. ORE Catapult and The Crown Estate will work with offshore wind farm owner/operators to make improvements to wind turbine operational performance by increasing safety, reliability and availability.

The model of the furnace purchased is HSH2503-0509, which will be used in Narec's solar cell metallization process.
Narec already tests blades of up to 70m but, as global demand for renewable energy grows, installed capacity will rise, meaning bigger turbines, and more of them.
JDR is one of three projects to receive support from Narec's PS2.8m public-private initiative, which helps SMEs in the region move into the rapidly developing offshore wind and marine renewable energy supply chain.
More than 63.5 million [pounds sterling] is being invested in Narec by local and national government over the next few years in an attempt to kickstart an industrial cluster in the North East, which is well located to serve offshore turbines in the North Sea.
