Second, as case studies, we examine a number of databases of stolen art including the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Stolen Art File
(NSAF) and the Art Loss Register (ALR), two existing databases that limit access to reproductions of missing works of art.
Besides the National Stolen Art File
, the FBI Art Crime Team also keeps track of museums and libraries offering rewards for returned items along with alerts that certain items have been stolen.
