When the President of the Slovak Republic, Rudolf Schuster, visited Canada with a few of the country's ministers, Canada's Minister for International Cooperation, Susan Whelan, used the opportunity to announce the launch of the Official Development Assistance in Central Europe (ODACE) program.
ODACE is a five-year, $15-million program, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), to establish a new kind of partnership between Canada and four Central European countries -- the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Slovak Republic.
Within the ODACE program, these countries will even be in a position to help neighbouring countries.
