With over 90 centers nationwide, OWBO
provides companies with assistance and/or training in finance, management, marketing, and procurement.
OWBO is one of only two government offices that sponsor economic programs for women; the other is the Women's Bureau within the Department of Labor.
Last year, OWBO created the Women's Prequalification Pilot Loan Program, which is designed to provide loans of $250,000 or less.
Small Business Administration's Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO) has a new pilot loan program allowing the SBA to guarantee a loan before the entrepreneur even approaches a bank.
The program aims to raise that to at least 15%, says OWBO Director Betsy Myers.
