Alcatel-Lucent will provide its 9600 LSY synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) wireless technology and its Optical Multi-Service Node
(OMSN) to improve communications exchanges between sites for optimising service delivery.
It will provide access to advanced voice, video and data applications capabilities, and scalable network architecture based on its service routing and optical networking offering, including 7710 SR, 5620 Service Aware manager and Optical Multi-Service Node
Alcatel-Lucent is reportedly supplying Kordia with its 7750 Service Router (SR), 7710 Service Router (SR) and 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS) to address its service routing requirements, as well as its data-aware Optical Multi-Service Node
(OMSN) optical networking systems to deliver carrier-class Ethernet services over Kordia's existing network infrastructures.
Alcatel-Lucent's solution is based on its 1678 Metro Core Connect (MCC) and Optical Multi-Service Node
(OMSN) systems and incorporates Generalised MPLS (GMPLS) and Automatic Switched Optical Network (ASON) technologies.
Under the contract Alcatel will supply its new-generation dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) submarine line terminal, unrepeatered systems, as well as its Optical Multi-Service Node
(OMSN) systems for terrestrial applications.
