"Offering Autodesk certified instructors, curriculum, and hardware here in Hawaii is just one of many key partnerships we have with global tech leaders to bring cutting edge training to our state," says PCATT director Don Bourassa.
"Now students, professionals and career changers no longer have to go to the Mainland and can be trained and certified in Red Hat right here in Hawaii," says Buzz Caraang, PCATT systems engineer and Red Hat certification examiner.
We identify the technology needs of the community, and see if we can fill them," says Bourassa, director of PCATT, which also has partnerships with several other major technology vendors, including Microsoft, Novell, Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems.
There's 150 community colleges across the country that essentially do what PCATT does--offer certifications in response to the needs of local industries.
Bridging education and industry, the Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training (PCATT) is all about people facing today's high-tech economy - professionals, aspiring students, and career changers - staying abreast of the latest workplace technologies.
PCATT is a consortium of the University of Hawaii community colleges.
