law); the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulartory Board (transportation discounts), Department of Agriculture (five percent discount on prime commodities), Bureau of Internal Revenue (tax exemptions) and other programs and services for the PWD (National Council for Disability Affairs, DSWD, Department of Public Works and Highways and PhilHealth.
According to Almario, the functions of PDAO
are: to formulate and implement policies, plans and programs that promote the welfare of PWDs in coordination with concerned national and local government agencies; and coordinate the implementation of Batas Pambansa 344 otherwise known as the Accessibility Law, among others.
As per estimate of PDAO
Antique has about 12,000 PWDs but only 8,000 of them are recorded at the provincial level.
To date, there are only four LGUs with PDAO
namely cities of Santiago and Ilagan in Isabela, and Tuguegarao City and Baggao in Cagayan.
